Details

“Money Management Challenge – Wealth by Virtue Animation Script” (Competition) is jointly organised by the Education Bureau (EDB), the Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) and the Hong Kong Education City (Edcity). It aims to build virtues that cultivate good money management habits in secondary school students.

The Competition is divided into two divisions, namely the Junior Secondary Division (S.1 – S.3) and the Senior Secondary Division (S.4 – S.5). The top 3 schools with the largest number of student participants will be awarded the “School Participation Award”. Besides, each school can nominate and submit a maximum of 2 entries for each division to compete for the “Awards for Students”.

 

Divisions

  • Junior Secondary (S.1 to S.3, each team should consist 1-2 students)
  • Senior Secondary (S.4 to S.5, each team should consist 1-2 students)

(Remarks: Each entry should be submitted to the respective division according to the class level of the participant in the 2020/21 school year.)

 

Form of the Competition

  • Students should submit a video script / a short story / a comic that can be made into animation on building virtues to cultivate good money management habits.
  • Students can join the competition individually or form a team of 2 students in the same division. Each participant should submit ONE entry only.
  • There is no upper limit on the number of participants from each school, but each school can only recommend and submit a maximum of 2 entries for each division to compete for the “Awards for Students”.
  • All entries should be submitted through schools.
  • Schools can arrange internal competitions for the selection of their entries.
  • The top 3 schools with the largest number of student participants will be awarded the “School Participation Award”.
     

Rules and Regulations

  • All entries should be original and have not been publicised.
  • Late submission will not be accepted.
  • Participants need to guarantee that contents of the entries do not infringe any copyright or intellectual property rights. (Please refer to the relevant ordinances). The organisers will not be accountable for any legal liability arising from infringement of copyright or intellectual property rights.
  • All entries must not contain materials that violate the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or contents of obscenity, violence or indecency. The organisers reserve the right not to accept any entries which are inappropriate or inconsistent with the themes and requirements of the competition.
  • All entries must not be modified after submission.
  • Once an entry is submitted, consent is automatically given by the school and student(s) concerned to publish the entry and related information on the webpage of the organisers, or for other promotional purposes. The school and student(s) shall understand and agree to grant and assign exclusively to the organisers all the copyrights of the submitted entries. The organisers reserve the right to translate, add subtitles, copy, edit and use all or part of the contents of the entries without the prior consent of the participating schools and students.
  • All decisions made by the organisers for the competition are final and binding.
  • The organisers reserve the right to modify the rules and all other arrangements of the competition without prior notice.
     

Requirements

  • Entries must match the theme of the competition, students need to choose from one of the following themes
    • Personal financial planning
    • Online shopping safety
    • Be a smart and green consumer
  • The work format should be video script / short story / comic and be in the form of a written story or a story board (with word limit for the dialog, Chinese: 800; English: 1 000).
  • The work submitted should be ready for producing a short animation video with a maximum length of 5 minutes.
  • The work submitted should be in PDF or Microsoft Powerpoint format and with a maximum of 20 slides.
