Our portal, EdCity.hk, is a one-stop professional educational portal in Hong Kong which incorporates information, resources, interactive communities and online services, and promotes the use of information technology (I.T.) in improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Collect & analyze user requirements, perform system, database and architectural design according to the project requirements.
- Develop and document Web based application and services.
- Assist in leading developers to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist in managing outsourced projects and vendors.
- Coordinate with and provide technical support to various departments and external parties during the implementation and operation of systems.
- Assist the management in exploring new technologies especially those revenant to the education sector.
- Take up ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in system development.
- 3+ years’ solid experience in system analysis and design, development and deployment (preferably with full stack experience).
- Strong knowledge and experience in PHP and related frameworks (e.g. Laravel), JavaScript and related frameworks (e.g. Vue.js), AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, Apache, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and other Linux-based open-source software.
- Hands-on experience in cloud development (preferably with Microsoft Azure), CI/CD, Kubernetes and Docker would be an advantage.
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
- Able to work under pressure and proactively meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently.
- Great team player with positive can-do attitude.
- Candidates with less experience will also be considered as Software Engineer.
