Description

The Smarthon Smart City IoT Starter Kit is an IoT education kit designed specifically for BBC micro:bit, aiming to guide students in exploring three major areas: Smart Living, Smart Environment, and Smart Transportation through hands-on activities.

The kit’s most distinctive feature is its contextual learning, including a complete city map and various wooden/cardboard models, allowing students to build realistic, miniature versions of city infrastructure.

Key Features

  • Cloud Data Transfer: Built-in Wi-Fi module supports data upload to ThingSpeak or triggering mobile notifications/emails via IFTTT.
  • Multi-Sensory: Equipped with temperature, humidity, ultrasonic, light, noise, PIR (Personal Illumination) and rain sensors to simulate environmental monitoring.
  • Automation Control: Controls traffic light modules, 180° servos (gate levers), and WS2812 rainbow lights to achieve automated scenarios.
  • Physical Scene Simulation: Provides a large city map and 9 wooden models (buildings, parking lots, etc.) to visualize the code.
  • Easy Wiring: Uses a foolproof plug-in design (non-DuPont wires), eliminating the need for soldering and suitable for rapid classroom deployment.
  • Programming: Supports MakeCode graphical building blocks programming.
