Hong Kong Education City Limited (EdCity) is a wholly-owned company of the Government of HKSAR. Our portal, EdCity.hk, is a one-stop professional educational portal in Hong Kong which incorporates information, resources, interactive communities and online services, and promotes the use of information technology (I.T.) in improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning. We are now looking for a high caliber professional to join our dynamic team in the following position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Product + UX: Lead end-to-end UX design (research) → wireframes → prototypes → UAT); analyze usage patterns to suggest UX optimizations; own design decisions from concept to launch;
  • Design & Implementation: Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; implement UX/UI standards across digital products; conduct iterative design based on user feedback;
  • User Research: Conduct usability testing, focus groups, surveys; synthesize feedback to identify pain points; translate research into actionable design improvements;
  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end management of various digital projects, ensuring deliverables meet user requirements and are executed within defined timelines. Lead administrative and coordination efforts to facilitate clear communication between internal units throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Contractor Management: Manage external contractors for routine communication; prepare and maintain project status documentation, reports, and meeting minutes to ensure delivery standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in UX design, product development, or digital services. Experience in EdTech and AI products is a distinct advantage;
  • Must submit a portfolio showing 2–3 completed UX case studies (research → design → iteration → outcome);
  • Core skill: Proven experience in Figma (wireframes, mockups, prototypes); portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX design work;
  • UX tooling: Expertise in Figma, user research tools (e.g. Hotjar, GA4), and prototyping; ability to create user flows, journey maps, and design systems;
  • Proven ability to use data analytics platforms to monitor user behavior, get insights about users, and proactively suggest product and UX/UI optimizations;
  • Practical experience in preparing requirements and documentation to ensure seamless implementation by internal teams and contractors;
  • Good interpersonal skills to handle routine communications with internal technical staff and external contractors;
  • Good understanding of UX and school-based IT environments;
  • Good understanding of EdTech, web and mobile technologies to ensure effective communication with development teams and contractors;
  • Proactively keep up with the latest trends in EdTech products, emerging UX/UI best practices, and evolving industry standards;
  • A strong passion for learning, a genuine interest in listening to users’ feedback, and an eager attitude toward making products grow through continuous optimization;
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Project Officer.
