About

Background

In the new era of education, teachers have to embrace innovative education by effective use of technology and innovative pedagogies to enhance teaching effectiveness and unleash students' potential. Hong Kong Education City (EdCity) has always committed to promoting the use of educational technology to actualise innovative education. The ‘Innovative Teacher Award’ (ITA) was first established in 2020 and moves forward to its 2nd edition this year. The ITA is to recognise teachers who share EdCity’s vision, who effectively adopt different educational technologies, and who ride on education theories and innovative pedagogies to successfully actualise innovative education.

Objectives

  • Recognise teachers who have successfully actualised innovative education and improved effectiveness in learning, teaching and assessment by effective use of technology supported by education theories and innovative pedagogies
  • Gather teachers who are dedicated to promoting innovative education to actualise future ready education
  • Foster development, professional exchanges and sharing of innovative education among the education community
