HKEdCity × Microsoft: Online Teaching for All Initiative

HKEdCity and Microsoft Hong Kong have jointly launched the ‘Online Teaching for All Initiative’. Riding on the comprehensive HKEdCity membership system and the multifunctional Microsoft Office 365 Education (Office 365 A1) account, tens of thousands of teachers are supported to implement remote teaching easily with Microsoft Teams at no cost. Teachers can then share experiences and collaborate with the peers on the platform to co-build a professional teaching community.

Office 365 A1 Account features:

1. Hold online classes and meetings anytime, anywhere
Conduct Microsoft Teams meeting for up to 250 persons without time limit; participants can join as ‘Guest’ by clicking the meeting link without login; the host can record online classes, meetings and webinars. Recordings will be stored on Microsoft Stream platform and the host can download the recording for sharing.

2. Share and design teaching resources in the cloud
Each account is equipped with 1T OneDrive cloud storage. Users can access, share, and edit Word docs, PowerPoint, and Excel files in real time, allowing teachers to co-design and enhance teaching resources.

3. Build a professional teaching community
An exclusive community for Office 365 A1 account users will be constructed in the Teams. The users can chat, build and join different groups on the platform. By gathering teachers in various education groups, they can share education resources and experiences, which will foster inter-school collaboration.
