Digital Education Advisor/ Expert Consultant/ Consultant (Part-time)

Hong Kong Education City Limited (EdCity) is a wholly-owned company of the Government of HKSAR. Our portal, EdCity.hk, is a one-stop professional educational portal in Hong Kong which incorporates information, resources, interactive communities and online services, and promotes the use of information technology (I.T.) in improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning. We are now looking for a high caliber professional to join our dynamic team in the following position.

1. Facilitating exchanges of educational resources and information among schools and teachers, while building a professional teachers’ community;
2. Encouraging students to make effective use of eLearning resources, as part of the growing trend of student-centric self-directed learning; and
3. Empowering parents to nurture their children’s whole-person development and encourage them to become lifelong learners.

Through synergy arising from teachers, students and parents closely collaborating with our partners, we are proactively building an interactive service platform that is beneficial for both learning and teaching.

Job Role:

This is a job role with wide job scopes and multiple duties, and the employment is initially for four months, which can either be on part-time or project-based basis, with the possibility of project extension.

Candidates with Mainland China and/ or international backgrounds are welcome to apply. The job incumbent should have a valid visa/ entry permit to work in the HKSAR (Visas / Entry Permits | Immigration Department).

Areas of Responsibility:

• Support the planning and implementation of digital education initiatives in Hong Kong schools;
• Advise on the adoption and application of AI in education (e.g. Instructional design, educational technology, platform, education pedagogy and learning science);
• Design and improve AI-enabled learning platforms, LLMs, knowledge base, safeguarding governance, cybersecurity, system architecture, tools, applications, and services;
• Strengthen data-informed decision-making and governance in teaching, learning, and assessment;
• Forster innovation with partners and key stakeholders in pedagogy, curriculum, and educational technology;
• Support and advise on new product development management and continuous system improvement for digital education solutions from concept ideation, user needs analysis, UX/UI validation, solution fit, and school-context fit, to iterative implementation and new releases management;
• Promote and support learning services, educational programmes, and community engagement through digital education technology, particularly for diverse and underserved learners, such as students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) learners, and other minority groups;
• Support on communications, branding, events, and stakeholder engagement related to digital education initiatives in Putonghua and English;
• Design and advise on a suite of tailored programmes to strengthen the organisation’s long-term capability and operational effectiveness, covering corporate governance enhancement, talent and leadership development, corporate culture reinforcement, staff engagement, and process optimisation and automation;
• Carry out the preparation and implementation of the related project proposals and plans;
• Prepare reports and other relevant documentation; and
• Take up ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline or equivalent, Master’s degree or above is preferrable;
• Strong understanding of AI and digital learning technologies, with the ability to integrate these into educational services, with in-depth knowledge of technology development in Mainland China preferred;
• Experience in developing and justifying educational content that aligns with user needs and industry best practices will be an advantage;
• Good understanding of education system of Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as primary and/or secondary subject-matter curriculum knowledge.
