Hong Kong Education City (EdCity), iFLYTEK, and Caritas Wu Cheng-chung College have co-launched the “Mind Station”, a pilot program designed to transform mental health support for students through AI technology. This initiative aims to harness an innovative psychological Ai model to offer personalized counselling, promote the use of AI in education, and boost students’ overall well-being.
Witnessed by Dr Jeff Sze Chun Fai, JP, Under Secretary for Education, the three parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on July 7 at Caritas Wu Cheng-chung College, marking the official launch of the pilot program. The “Mind Station” offers students with a cozy, private and secure space for stress relief. Equipped with tablets featuring an AI psychological companion built on a large-scale psychological model, this space provides counseling services to help teenagers navigate mental health challenges effectively. Students from Caritas Wu Cheng-chung College will be the first to experience this initiative, allowing for a thorough evaluation of its effectiveness.
Through the pilot program, EdCity is anticipated to explore the feasibility of adopting AI to enhance student well-being services. Ultimately, this initiative aspires to develop a sustainable operational model that can serve as a valuable reference for education sector, paving the way for seamless integration into schools and collectively advancing the landscape of digital education.
