The HKSAR Government released a new Policy Address last week, emphasising its ambition to drive digital education in Hong Kong. As a long-term strategic partner of the Education Bureau (EDB), Hong Kong Education City (EdCity) fully supports the government in advancing local digital education. The police will join hands with EDB, EdCity and Qianfan Technology to enhance the cybersecurity awareness and training among schools, educators and students.
Dr Jeff Sze Chun Fai, JP, Under Secretary for Education, Mr Raymond Lam Cheuk Ho, Chief Superintendent for Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of Hong Kong Police Force and his team, along with Dr Tenny Lam Fung, Executive Director of Hong Kong Education City, as well as core members of Qianfan Technology, held a meeting recently. The four parties will collaborate to strengthen students’ competencies in digital and AI literacy, specifically supporting schools in cultivating students to use digital technologies ethically and responsibly, and promoting education through innovative and creative ways. In addition, they will develop creative tools tailored to students across different grade levels, particularly upper primary and junior secondary students, to raise their cybersecurity awareness. CSTCB of the police will leverage its online platform ‘CyberDefender’ to facilitate broader dissemination of these messages across society, and organise board games to foster student engagement. EdCity will actively support this initiative, holistically nurturing students to become future innovation and technology talents equipped with AI literacy, a strong sense of responsibility and a spirit of accountability.
