EdTech Seminar by EdCity: A Comprehensive Showcase of the ‘e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme’ (eLAFP)

Funded by a HK$500 million grant from the Quality Education Fund, the ‘e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme (eLAFP)’ was officially launched in June this year. A total of 22 projects have been approved, providing three years of support to publicly funded schools. Hong Kong Education City (EdCity), in collaboration with the HKPC Academy, co-organised the ‘EdTech Seminar’ on Friday, 12 September 2025, to showcase the latest project information to the educators.

eLAFP projects harness cutting-edge innovations, especially in AI and big data, to raise the bar for teaching and learning across a spectrum of subjects. This semester saw the first trio of projects hit the ground running. The seminar set out to equip educators with insider tips for a smooth-sailing funding application, offering hands-on demonstrations at dedicated booths. Here, participants could rub shoulders with the project development teams, getting the full picture of each product and discovering how these tools can be tailored to meet the unique needs of every school—bringing technology into the classroom with flying colours. Project leads and school representatives stepped up to the plate, sharing real-world stories that sparked fresh ideas among teachers. The event drew a full house, with close to 200 primary, secondary, and special school teachers joining in, making waves with its enthusiastic turnout.
